I use a fairly similar method and find it is neater to pivot at the corners instead of coming off the quilt. I generally use a straight stitch as well. Thanks for the link.

Wow....thanks so much....she makes it so easy. Now that I've watched it I'm going to run right down to my sewing rm. and give it a try. My sewing group is making lap quilts for a nursing home, and I have one ready to go except for the binding. Which I wasn't looking forward to, but now it seems so easy.

thanks for the tutorial. i never thought of using a decorative stitch on the binding

I liked it too, but she didn't show how she joined the ends of the binding. I can do it, but it's my least favorite part. Wish she would've shown her method.
