If you ever end up in Minnesota
one place you should stop is at Grubers Quilt Shop - http://www.grubersquiltshop.com/index.htm
Everytime I go to St. Cloud I spend 2-3 hours there. The displays are wonderful, more fabrics than I have ever seen in any shop. I have bought many patterns from there, just because of their displays. They have a great coffee shop with the most delicious soup and chicken salad sandwiches. I'm not associated with this shop except that I spend lots of time there looking, shopping and wishing I had more money (and room).

Oh, I have been to that wonderful quilt shop, but wish I could go more often. It's too far away. I am lucky to have a great Quilt shop close to me. It is the Calico Hutch in Haywood Mn.

I have been to Grubers when visiting relatives in the St. Cloud area. Will have to try to the Calico when we go visiting sounds like a good way to spend the day. We have a quilt shop in Hibbing that I spend too much at when we go on the shop hop. There is a quilt shop in Hill City that is in a gas station. She has great fabric and priced below what the other shops have. She said it's low over head. In Duluth on 3rd st there is a shop Creations. From the outside it doesn't look like it has much but lots of fabric, very helpful, long arm, and reasonably priced.

Gruber's is a great shop, but a couple of others that have tons of fabric and the friendliest clerks are Monica's in Park Rapids, half of the shop is anything you would want in yarn also, so for me is a perfect stop. Another one that made the top 10 shops is Bay Window in Perham, really nice 2 floors worth of all fabric!

Yes, I've visited them all and they are all great quilt shops. The Bay Window in Perham is great as well as Grubers. I need to make a trip north and visit some of the shops mentioned. I've been to the ones in Grand Rapids, Floodwood, Bemidji, and of course you can't forget Anderson's in Black Duck, that's a treat in itself. Another good one is Quilted Treasures in Rogers, MN, good stop off point from the Twin Cities if you're headed to Grubers.

I go to MN often because my DD and family are there. The first time I ever went to Gruber's I walked around with drool dribbling down my chin... After a bit, I took hold of myself-and spent about $400. Good thing I don't go often!!!! It is an AMAZING store with an outstanding staff!! Bus loads of quilters stop there because the selection is so awesome!
