Default Invisible Binding

This makes a beautiful corner and hardly any bulk.

Interesting. I watch Patric Lose on F&P TV show and saw him trim the dog ears which takes a large bit of bulk out of the corners.

Good way to do art/ wallhanging, but quilted items that are used need that two layers of fabric on the edges, at least that's my take on it. And I too trim that "little corner of bulk" when sewing binding, or anything for that matter.

Love the tutorial! An idea popped into my head and here it is. Special note: I haven't tried it yet, but I will the next time I make a wall hanging.

Make the top strip shorter than the width of the wall hanging, say by an inch on each side. First attach the strips to the long sides and the bottom, all the way to step #9. Then attach the top strip all the way to step #9, except do not stitch down the sides of the strip itself. Then you will be able to slip in a rod or a dowel for hanging the quilt! Consider making this strip (or even all four strips to accommodate the rod/dowel) wider as needed. I may do a running stitch or something 1/4 or 1/2 inch from the top (just enough to keep the stitches from going through the front of the hanging) so the rod is not right at the top. Hope this makes sense.
