We've got a couple of jellyroll quick quilts in this section, but I don't buy those. They call for 1600" long by 2 1/2" wide. That works out to about 2 3/4 yards of fabric 40" to 43" wide.
Here is my substitute! JAM QUILT
11 or 12 compatible Fat Quarters (remove selvege, if any).
Shuffle colors.
Sew all together along lengthwise ends (shorter dimension).
Trim one long edge neatly.
Sew into a loop, offsetting by 2 1/2". Starting at the offset, cut into one (about 1600" long!) strip. Stop when you reach the first seam where you no longer have 2 1/2" width to continue. Remove any uneven leftovers.
Cut off about 9" of the end to stagger seams.
Continue as in quick jelly roll instructions.
(sew the two ends of the strip side by side repeatedly, cutting at fold, until you have them all in one rectangle --trim, and add borders)
