Just got these and they are great! I got the 8 1/4" ones. They cut through 2 layers of fabric and one layer of batting like butter. Soooo much easier than my ginghers do. Made in Japan.

Well good for Japan! It's good to have great scissors!

Can I ask where you found them?
I got them from amazon.
eta: I originally said they were not made in China but for some reason that was edited out. It just makes my "made in Japan" statement look stupid without that part.
I found a great deal at the Quilt Expo in Madison recently....got three pair of scissors for a very good price and an awesome and sharp seam ripper.
I have been using Kia Professor scissors for several years and love then. they make two group that I know of, the Kia and Kia Professor group that is really great, but costly. I found a little embroidery Kia scissor, cheap line at Hobby Lobby and they work great for cutting thread. Kia scissors used to be some famous knife company in the US, can't remember the knife Co name. They stay sharp.
I never met a Kai I didn't like. I have several pair (signed up for news about sales) and I LOVE them. Always free shipping and you can return them for free sharpening for as long as you own them.
Kai scissors are the best. If you try them you will love them. Got my first one here on the Board when you could sale things.....not sure if they steel do that know. You can go on the internet and get them too.
I've actually been using the Kai rubber scissor for stamps for years and years. I have 3 pairs. But I guess it never occurred to me that they have regular shears too.
