Laced star variation star
Carol Doak:
This interesting traditional block has been reworked so that the foundations can be printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper to make a 12" finished size block. I would suggest using print fabrics for the rays of the star so the seams disappear.

In the drawing of the finished square, it looks like the points go right to the corners without any 1/4" leeway for stitching the squares together. Is that right? Thanks for posting and resizing. Think I'll try it and see how it works.

It looks to me like each of the four partial blocks have 1/4 inch seem allowances for connecting them and then on the outside of the blocks as well. These are noted by the dashed lines on the paper foundation.
