    Default Machine quilting

Here is a neat lesson in quilting a large quilt on a regular home machine.

Elizabeth Hartman is a wonderful modern designer and quilter!

That was very interesting video. Thanks for posting!

I'm an FMQ beginner but I would try it on my next project. Do you think it would work for more structured designs? Or for following a design traced onto the quilt?

I really liked that video. I was wondering where to start and stop! This gives me "direction" that makes sense to me. Thanks for posting!

Elizabeth does other shapes of quilting with terrific results. I think working with the quilt like this would make it easier to deal with the various shapes, since you aren't having to fight the bulk of the quilt on your lap. I have found that pulling the quilt toward me is easier than pushing it away, especially when the quilt gets tugged by the edge of the sewing table. It would take some getting used to for me to have my left arm under the quilt. If you read some of the comments she got there are more answers from her about specific questions.

My goodness I may just be able to do this only for a small quilt though. Thank you posting this link. I have it bookmarked.

Ditto for me. I'll sure try this way.
