Cool Visiting Nova Scotia

Thanks everyone, I am really going to try to get to several of these & definitely Marden's. Fabric is a great souvenir for my mom! I will plot out these quilt shops & take a list with me & then plot out our 'potential' time frame in regard to driving. DH will let me stop for some, but not all! I would spend all of our vacation money if I did!!
Appreciate all of the feedback. Thank you!
I am sure you would love Nova Scotia if you love Maine. There is so much to see and do and the 2 coast lines (Atlantic Ocean and Bay of Fundy) offer very different experiences. A must see on any NS trip, is the Highlands of Cape Breton Island - truly beautiful ! Cape Breton and it's people are a whole experience unto itself. Come ! Enjoy !

At the very end of your trip is a shop on the Calaghan Rd. in Houlton and I think the name is I'd Rather Be Quilting.

I was able to get to Quilting Divas last summer but did not know about the shop in Edgecomb. We stayed on Mt. desert Island & we were so close!
Sorry that I missed the Quilt Show, I am sure it was wonderful. We always miss the Lobster Festival in Rockland too. Usually we stay inland but last year we did a coastal vacation with the family. Cannot wait to go back!

I agree Mardens is the best price wise. You will not believe the prices . Knights is good also. I go to the Mardens in Sanford. On route 1 when you get into Wells you will see turn for route 109 Sanford. Go on 109 about 10 miles. Worth the trip for sure. Also if you have the time, eat at the Maine Diner in Wells. Great food and wonderful service. It has been a Maine tradition for years. Enjoy your vacation.

My grandparents had a house in Lincolnville Beach right on Route 1, which is now a dentists' office. I have loved Maine since childhood and finally got my husband there last month after talking about Maine every time we have planned a vacation in the last 32 years! We were in Bar Harbor, and saw that quilt shop you are talking about. Didn't have a chance to stop in, unfortunately, but we're planning on going back next summer and I'll be going in for sure then.

OMG - the seafood at Stewman's restaurant in Bar Harbor!! We'd eat lunch there and skip dinner! Delicious....

I will be going to Maine at the end of the month. Iowa to Maine which is a 22 hr trip. My son went to collage in Maine. Came back to Iowa for a year and missed it so much he went back. Lobster at 3.99 lb. that's hamburger price!! I will be in Portland for a week so I,m interested,in those shops as well. Car is going out with his boxes but lots of room on the way back for fabric!

Thanks so much everyone for the shop & eatery tips! So appreciate it & oreo12 I don't feel bad now, our drive is only about 15 hours. HA!! Safe travels. My husband gets so excited about eating fresh lobster so cheap, it's funny.
