Default MoMoe's Star

Since jrhboxers took her time to find this pattern with the template I thought I would pull out the pattern from the article and post it for everyone.

I am confused (nothin' new about that!). The pattern says to put the fleeced part of the "fleece" next to the wrong side of the backing. This makes me think that the right side of the backing then folds to the front to make the scallop. Why put the fleeced part to the wrong side of the backing? Does the "fleecy" part just sort of serve to be the batting? (I AM blond, so be gentle when you explain this . . . please don't make me feel any more foolish than I do for asking.)

Madgie Rae wrote "This makes me think that the right side of the backing then folds to the front to make the scallop."

Hopefully I can make this a little simpler:

Fleece takes the place of batting

Think of the scallops as the back of a self binding quilt.

Each finished hexie is really a miniature “finished quilt”

So, just like any other quilt:

Back = Scallop Right side down
Batting = Fleece In the middle between backing and front
Front = Hexie Right side up

Hope this helps

Thank you to jrhboxers and juneayerza for posting these for us! What a treat! I'm out of ink on this Saturday night, and didn't want to download the whole newsletter, so it's really helpful to have just those two pages to save. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again!
