Wow, it came out nice from the dryer except for the one shredded hankie. At least with the hankies top stitched to the background square, it is a fairly easy fix.

I made my SIL curtains out of hankies. Within 2 years they completely fell apart .. These are beautiful but don't let to much light on them

Hankies are generally made of thin fabric. I would use them only in a wall quilt or something that would not be washed very often because they are rather fragile. They would make great table runners, dresser scarves, wall quilts, pillow tops, book covers, etc.

I would consider backing the hankies with the fusible used to back tee shirts used in a quilt.

I too have a lot of hankies from my mother and grandmothers, but like meant2be I would put stabilizer on the back as they are very old and very thin and there for would not stand up on their own.
