    New glue thread

Just watched this video. Pretty neat. I love applique. Have any of you found this Superior thread? Wonder how expensive it is.

I wonder if it would be possible to use the glue thread on the top and the monopoly on the bobbin and trace on the back of the fabric so no evidence of tracing would show on the front. I would like to try the glue thread. It seems like it would be a time saver. I also wonder how expensive it is.

Fusible thread has been around for decades. Superior brand has better quality of those I have used. I sometimes use it in the bobbin to stitch around my quilt top and then when I sew the binding on a large quilt. I can turn it an fuse it in place to hold it perfectly while stitching it by hand. Don't have to remove the top thread and can use left over thread of any color for the top. I think I paid about $6 a spool.

    Charlote's Fusible

This morning there was a post called New Glue Thread. For some reason I can't find it anymore, but I would like to say thanks for the heads up about Charlotte's Fusible Thread for applique. I have looked at all the videos on this new product and am excited to try it. It almost seems too good to be true. If it works like it says it does, it saves both time and money as well as being easy and taking out the stiff, flat look from fusible applique. I would like to hear from those of you who have used it.

I haven't used it but I posted on the previous thread that it looks interesting. I think it will be fine for wallhangings with a buttonhole stitch done over the edge but if it was using it on a quilt, I would satin stitch the appliqué edges after fusing.

I looked on Superior Threads web site and found both the fusible thread & the mono poly thread. The fusible thread is $5.99 and the mono poly is $8.99 for the 2200 yd. spool & $24.00 for 10,000 yds..

It is called Charlotte's Fusible Web and is $5.99 for 115 yds. 100% Nylon. Fuses without the stiffness of adhesive web. Great alternative for fusible appliqué, especially when multiple layers are involved. For use in bobbin.
