I gave classes in this kind of manipulated fabric blocks in the 90's.
a couple of years ago I did a traditional one too. It's all good!

I'm really pleased so far with this little wallhanging. Due to the bulky seams, I don't think I'd want a regular quilt. I used 4 in squares (print and white) and closer to 4-1/2 for the center inserts.
