Default A nice surprise in today's mail

I was notified I won a $10 gift certificate at the Red Barn Custom Quilts in the Shop Hop last month however, when I tried to redeem it the site was gone. I thought that I wouldn't be able to get my certificate.

Today in the mail, I received 4 fat quarters from the shop with a note explaining that the shop has closed and thus unable to redeem gift cert. but they were sending 4 fat quarters, valued at $12 in place of the prize. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised to receive something the value was even more then I deserved plus they mailed it to me at their cost. I'm just sorry to see this shop go out of business because obviously they would have been an asset to the quilting community if this is any example of how they operated.

Sorry to see you go Red Barn Custom Quilts but thank you for what you did.

Thank you for your follow up post. It is great that the shop's owners found a way of honouring their commitment to get a prize to you.

Very nice of them to do. It is a shame so many quilt shops are closing

Very nice of them to honor in spite of closing.

Great Gift. Sad that the shop has closed. But that's happening to a lot of LQS due to the internet shopping folks do. I research a bunch online, then start calling the shops located within 30 miles of me to see if they have the fabric. I ask them to take a look and IF they have something very similar I'll change up my quilt.
I don't want to lose shops.
