NOT a cheater quilt - Genius Quilt

You could do this with pieced squares as well. Scroll to bottom of page for link to directions. This is cool. http://www.littlebitfunky.com/2010/0...heats-lot.html

What a great way to dress up a comforter! That's definitely going on my list of things to do.
People who start projects and never finish them are cooler
than people who never start projects at all.

I have a plain white comforter that isn't Down filled but close enough. I never use it but I have some quilt tops that would work on this. Good idea, thanks.

Cute idea...don't like the raw edges.....I would sew muslin to back of squares to create turned edges.

Great idea but the raw edges turned me off so Lady Diana your idea is super!
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I had considered "quilting" a printed sheet onto a comforter, but like this idea much better! It has more character and could be a great way to use up leftover blocks!

Like Lady Diana and susiequilt, I don't like raw edging and would turn the edging as well.

Geri B, thought of that too...I wonder if it would really be necessary to use a fusible...couldn't you use basting glue of some kind to hold them in place until they are stitched?? Just a thought...not always good...but a thought!

we have a Cuddledown outlet close to where I live and they offer 50% off on "seconds" with imperfections. You can bet I will be giving this a whirl... I'll start on a small size first. Thanks for sharing the post.
attitude is everything...the rest will fall into place.

Love love love the whole idea. I love my down comforter, but don't want to put a duvet cover on it. This will work perfectly. Now I just have to decide on what blocks hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. and thanx so much
