Default Notice to Hand Quitlers

Just want to let all hand quilters know that if they would like to have an
actual thimble for the "under" hand while hand quilting, I came across a man
on Etsy that custom made one for me. I call it my "Under-handed
thimble". It is shaped much like a mushroom and works great. No more
pricked fingers, no more callouses, no more blood spots on the quilted
project (speaking from experience). I enjoy hand quilting, but didn't like
the problems I had with sore fingers. Now I can't get enough of
hand-quilting.

I don't know that much about navigating the Etsy sight, but I found that by
searching for "silver thimbles" you will find him as seller "Rio Fire". Then
pick the item you find, go to its page and to the right hand side of the
item's page is a "contact" button. You can get the info from him on how to
measure, etc.
I get nothing out of this - NAYY - just a happy customer. I told him I
would spread the word as much as possible since I am so please with mine.

Happy stitching, everyone,
Marlys in Indiana

I found the shop but couldn't find the one you described. Can you post a picture?

Default Under-Hand Thimble

This is a pic of the thimble that Rio-Fire made for me. Hope I'm doing this right. I'm not "up" on some of this computer stuff. Sorry I got it sideways. Don't know how to fix it at this time.

Interesting! Is it comfortable? I use an Aunt Becky underhand thimble and really like it.

Thanks for the picture. This looks like it would work similar to using a spoon. When I tried using a spoon it was just too awkward. This looks easier to control.

I didn't see any listed either. Did he have that one listed when you purchased it from him?

I hand quilt and would love to find an "under thimble" that I could use. I searched for the site but could not find it. Can you give us his web site. I would love to try that thimble. Thanks

I have an under-handed thimble I bought from Esther Miller and it's great! It’s made in porcelain, it has a little hole so you can attached with a thread to a bracelet and it won’t fall and break. There is also one from Yoko Saito.
No suffering while quilting, just enjoying!
