New to me and seems quite different in construction..anyone ever see this before

Never seen it before, will have to try that out sometime and experiment.
Sort of like the dimensional Pinwheels but in Stars.

Interesting! I may not be understanding the pattern but wouldn't you have some waste? When it says to lay with backside up and trim on the raw edges is the trimmed part waste? Maybe someone can help me to get this.
