But you have to get some sort of circle thingy....forgot what it was.

Couldnt you just draw around a plate the size you want or lid of pan or something?

if you cut thin batting about 1/4" smaller all around and lay it over on one piece so that it's inside when you turn it, then follow the directions from there, it'll be self-quilted. flannel inside would be good.
