That is a really nice block and it strikes me as a good way to be a good scrappy user too. Just what I was looking for. Thank you for your tutorial Enci! It almost makes me think I can handle the points and i'm inspired to give it a try.
As i looked at your paper piecing pattern, my eye picked out a second design, so i whipped it up in my computer paint program to see what it would look like. Here it is below showing the interplay of four whole blocks.
