    The file downloads and opens in Excel just fine. Excel works nicely for laying out your design - you can size the cells to make a grid then colour in one square at a time.

    I got it. (download) opened excel, and file went to google downloads, clicked on it and it opened.

    Oops, sorry. I do have Excel
