A comment near bottom of info states ---- because of being constructed this way, may not be appropriate for bed quilt.....my question, why?

I do theses 2"square scrappy blocks, but I use Bonnie Hunter's method of leaders/enders.....this seemed like a lot of prep, finishing work for a scrappy mini....JMHO

I'm confused. Does she iron on loose patches and then sew them?

Yes you iron them on , then sew them one direction , cut open with a rotary knife , iron seams open, sew the other direction , cut open with your rotary knife .iron seams open .I have made this before & they are HARD to hand stitch , but do nicely on a sewing machine . They make foundation with the squares already printed on them so your rows are nice & straight. I made long pieces of these & joined for a queen size quilt top ,I did NOT use batting as I wanted a summer quilt & the fusing fabric gives it just enough extra weight for me .

Pretty neat way to piece those little pieces. Would be great for a doll quilt or a purse pocket where you wouldn't mind a little more body. Might have to try this with the little 1 1/2' blocks I've accumulated.
    Thanks for posting

That is a similar tutorial to the watercolor wreath I made. It makes it much easier to keep those tiny squares stable. Name: IMG_1773[1].jpg

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.

I have made a couple of table runners using this method. I have purchased interfacing with a printed grid, so it makes lining up those little squares so easy. Press then sew- quick and easy.
