Thank you for sharing. It is a great idea for a summer cover.
It looks like the same seam used for denim jeans. You just have to make sure you are using larger blocks (1/2" seams). It would take more thought when sewing if using a more intricate pattern, matching seams or points, etc.

That was my thought too. We knew them as flat fell seams. Very nice.

Are you familiar with Bojagi quilt method?

Bojagi. Google it and see what it is. Google images has lots of the finished products. Cool way to turn quilt piecing into gorgeous curtains.

Saw a pieced wallhanging at nail salon getting pedi. How the different pieces intrigued me as no seams were raw and yet no back on the 'quilt top'. Anyone know or doing this method? With the language barrier it took the gal writing the word down for me. Will post pics of applying this and another technique "pogagi" when I complete one of the quilted bowl covers. I am using the pogagi seams to connect blocks that I have foundation pieced onto fabric. Through an image search I was led to some quilt show interviews in uk. Beautiful and simple to do stuff.

Never heard of this. It's interesting isn't it? Definitely very different. I can't think of how or where I would use it. Are you going to make curtains or something this way?

I have a book called World of Quilts by Cassandra Ellis that has a great chapter on Bojagi (though she transliterates it as 'Pojagi'--I believe both are correct)

I think you might be seeing both the hardcover version and the paperback version. As far as I can tell, they're the same book. The full title is "World of Quilts--25 Modern Projects: Reinterpreting Quilting Heritage from Around the Globe" by Cassandra Ellis.

I also have her book "Cloth", which I also love.

    Hope that helps!

Very interesting, thanks for sharing with us. There are some beautiful examples out there.....I am toying with the idea of making some curtains in this style for a nursery/childrens' room we are setting up at home.....apparently Grandparents are supposed to do this.
