Bah Humbug! No patterns.....

Yarn or Fabric 10-27-2011 04:44 PM

I have to agree - love the fabrics but boo hiss on the lack of inspirational patterns.....

Favorite Fabrics 10-27-2011 07:27 PM

I never thought about their lack of patterns. But then... though they do group their fabrics together, and I guess they call those groups collections, they're not like Moda collections where all the fabrics in a group play well with one another.

To my eyes, the AH fabrics seem to more-or-less stand on their own, individually. With less of a need for a supporting cast.

Maybe that's why they don't do patterns. Or maybe it is because AH's designers are more artists, rather than quilters.

Just a guess...

I think you guess correctly......they are about 5 minutes from here and really look like a design studio.....someday i will go inside and check it out....maybe take a camera

I must have done something wrong. I put Halloween in search. It came up 9 pages. I could only get 4 pages to show. :((

The funny thing is a LOT of the current quilt & fabric designers are actually NOT quilters at all - many are graphic artists or based in other crafts and they have NEVER made a quilt before or don't even SEW. Many of them admit that, if you read their bios ... I find that kind of ironic, after quilting for 20+ yrs !!

he has a really nice web site. never ordered from him, always bought at quilt shops

Ooh, ah, oh my goodness. I must have more of AH. I came across some of these fabrics only a few months ago and it was love at first sight. Now, sigh, here's a site where I can spend too much $$. Thanks. :)
