We have our summer camping trip set for Southern Wisconsin and I have been looking for places to visit... I know DH would make a day trip to find as many of these barn quilts as possible.... he loves a competition even if it is with himself!
Thanks for the info! |
There is a self guided barn tour in Bradford County PA starting 5/1/10. Had I known about it, I would have gone this week end.
The article I saw said the barn quilts are 8" x 8' . I'm thinking I need one for our pole barn and pavilion. wonder if hubby will let me do it???? |
North Carolina has some of these...Quilt Trails is the newsletter. Don't recall the name of the project, but they have a website. I saw it the first time 2 years ago, and they now have over 100 quilt blocks on buildings in the area. It is in the mountains in Western NC.
Edit - Here's the link: http://www.quilttrailswnc.org/ My daughter lives in Spruce Pine, NC, and we took a day trip to see the quilt blocks. We got about 20 or so pictures of them. |
There are a lot of them around Central KY, too. Really neat!
