Ebay has a daily deal today for 2 guns that look just like the basting gun I have for quilting. It is $5 for the 2 including shipping. I ordered a set cause the tip of mine broke off. Hope it will work!

can you get the refills for it? I got one from Joanns and they don't carry the refills but I found the correct refills at keepsake quilting. Same brand that I bought from Joanns.

I have gotten the refills at Walmart several times.

I've never used one of these and never seen one in person, but it seems like they'd leave large holes in your quilt????

No, I have never noticed the holes at all. I also got my refills at Walmart.

Enjoy this board!lots of good information. Question: Any body have the correct addy for Missouri Star Quilt Co.? Had an excellent quilt border tute. And that' the stage of my first quilt!! Oh, did I say that the quilt top is 20 yrs. old!:-)

My Walmart used to carry the guns and the refills, but they quit when they cleared out all the crafting stuff a year or two ago.

You should be able to find the refills online somewhere, ebay, Amazon, etc.

Do you like using the basting guns better that pins and/or spray? Does it hold well while quilting? And also have you machine quilted with this kind of basting?

ladyshuffler 08-29-2010 10:45 AM

Just my preference....I would rather use the spray.....less time and trouble, plus I don't like poking holes in my fabric.
