I did this exact thing for my retreat back in the fall. It was perfect!!!! I am right handed and sat with my right to the wall so I put the tray against the wall and my table and just had to spin to press it was fantastic!!! I have been using it by the TV upstairs when I am cutting my postage stamps in front of the tv.

craftybear: Thanks so much for the link to the TV tray ironing board. This is a great idea for me to use in our RV this summer.

Thank you CraftyBear! As usual you save the day! I have 2 of those tv trays one of which I'm going to put to use! The only thing I'm going to do differently is wrap it with aluminum foil. I saw how to make a large ironing board and they covered it with aluminum foil to stop the board from warping and I suspect that it will help reflect the heat back up to iron better! :)

Hi, You are very welcome,

I have been using a big bath towel doubled and then put my June Taylor pressing board on top of it and just the right size to put on a tv tray!

Yes, I did the tv tray, big bath towel and then my June Taylor pressing board on top to use to press on the other day

I had a small tv tray to right of me and one to the back of me with my small cutting mat

when I was sewing and making paper piecing

My chair was on rollers and could just turn around (old piano stool that adjusts in height)
