Colorful Quilter 03-12-2011 09:10 PM

I made a puff quilt wayyyyyy back when, not nearly as colorful

Lv2sew2011 03-12-2011 09:11 PM

Thats what got me says vintage, but it looks modern to me because of the colors! I was just wondering...LOL

cjomomma 03-12-2011 09:30 PM

I'm thinking that's not right. Those are too modern for the 60's in my opinion.

That's what I'm thinking, now if it was tye-dye, I would agree, but not these neon colors...

but it is a pretty colorful quilt!

janethagy 03-12-2011 09:40 PM

I seen that too and thought the same thing.. to bright of colors... I think its more modern too... But it is a very pretty quilt.

cjomomma 03-12-2011 09:40 PM

Yes it is a pretty colorful quilt. I was thinking the same thing about the tye dye. I like it tho.

I think the hot pink and lime green were in around then... or maybe it would have been the very early 70's.

fatquarters 03-12-2011 10:04 PM

reminds me of the late 80's or ealy 90's, I remember sewing for my kids and I think I had some of those colors

Scissor Queen 03-12-2011 10:18 PM

You never saw any of the florescent colors from the late 60s and early 70s?

BETTY62 03-12-2011 10:28 PM

That's bright enough to keep you awake at night.

bibliostone 03-12-2011 10:32 PM

Certainly those colors were around in the "Psychedelic Sixties"!

Lisanne 03-12-2011 10:36 PM

I remember in 1968, day-glo green, yellow, orange and pink were very popular together.

And then you had the psychedelic brights.

We had cooler colors, too. Remember ice blue? And purple was big. Hot pink? Tangerine?

But maybe you just don't remember the sixties. ;-) ;-)

wolfkitty 03-12-2011 10:43 PM

We had them, just didn't use them. LOL ;)

I remember the "anything goes" 1960s, and if these are polyester, they probably weigh a heck of a lot. But WARM!! If I remember correctly, they wore like iron, lasted through washing after washing. I really feel that this IS poly, might be a good deal for a vacation cabin. For winter use.

cheryl rearick 03-12-2011 11:28 PM

I remember the 60's I remember bright paints, BUT not materials. Maybe very late 60's or more into 70's when the hippies were in... lol:

KandiKane 03-13-2011 01:22 AM

I remember the hot pink and the lilac, not to sure about the green, its an eye catcher..

sueisallaboutquilts 03-13-2011 07:47 AM

Looks very Easter-y !! lol

I made a puff pillow in the 80's that my boys used to death.
I should make another one. :)

ann clare 03-13-2011 08:10 AM

I used these colors in the early 70's. The fabric used was polyester/cotton.

RitaVil 03-13-2011 08:56 AM

I was in 7th & 8th grades during 1968-69, and I remember I had lime green, hot pink, purple and bright yellow clothing. These colors were definitely "in" during the 60's in Los Angeles.

cathylynn 03-13-2011 09:01 PM

being a child of the 60s, I had some pretty wildly intense colored clothing (an orange and purple jumper got more than its share of wearings). so that quilt may well have been from that era.

LoriJ 03-14-2011 05:16 AM

Oh yeah... I had hot pink, bell bottomed, wide waistband poly pants in the sixties, and thought I was hot stuff..! Those colors are VERY familier. Although, I would guess that this quilt is polyester, not cotton. LOL

When I looked item had been deleted.

I have a Yorkie too. He's 4.4 lbs. Yours looks the same size. Aren't they just the most adorable dogs?

wolf3349 03-14-2011 04:47 PM
