Different prices for Warm & Natural Batting
I checked online to verify the cost of the 40-yd roll of Warm & Natural batting. The online price is $449.99, so I figured I could use the 60% coupon (it was for in store only, good today through the 12th) to buy it in the store. When I got to the store, there was a full roll available. You can imagine my surprise when the ticket showed th full price at $599.99 (before the discount)! Still a better deal at 60% off in the store than than the online price, but it is still extremely annoying to see such a difference between these two prices. :thumbdown:Wondering if anyone else has bought the same batting and had the experience I had.
FYI, I asked if I had ordered it from the store, which I would have if it had been out of stock, would shipping be charged? The answer is that if you are willing to wait until it comes from the warehouse (2 to 4 week wait), the shipping is free. That is, if you pick it up at the store. If you want it right away, it may take a week and shippping will be charged even if you pick it up. |

This is an old retail trick called "Mark it up to mark it down". I'm so sick of Joann's games with their coupons! However, at today's prices, one has to do what one has to do.
|
I thought i saw a little comment that the price online reflects the 10% discount for buying the whole bolt but that doesn't come to 100 dollar increase
|
Is the width the same??? There are a few different widths of Warm and Natural.
|
Could just be the discount for the ease of throwing the boxed bolt to the shipper from the online warehouse.
Almost no labor or tracking or inventory or shipping costs for Joann's. I'm not saying each bolt costs $150 to get to the store and cut by staff, but it's not zero either. Anyway, I think the $6/yard is a great price, and I can buy as much (or as little) as I want/need. |
Yes Joanne's is really annoying with their coupons, I prefer a price is a price. We have to save those coupons make sure we don't leave them home etc.
|
I know exactly your frustration but here is what I did. I printed the page that shows the price online and went to Joann,s local store and let them price match (that's their policy) and I used my 50% coupon which I had at that time so first they went down to $450 price and used 50% coupon not bad ha????
I am going to try to use the 60% this time and see ow much the manager will like me (btw she is crappy with both employees and customers) Good luck |
If you get the VIP card, you get an extra percentage off after sales and coupons are applied. Just bring in your guild card, or as I did, bring the AQS card you get when you subscribe to the magazine and become a "member" of AQS.

If you have a smart phone you can get coupons on the phone - same as the ones that come in the mail, but you don't have to remember to bring them with you.
|
They always get you one way or the other!

The policy from the T&C on the website (section 6): http://www.joann.com/termsconditions/ (b) PRICES AND SELECTION ON OUR WEB SITE MAY VARY FROM THE PRICES AND SELECTION IN OUR STORES. WE WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY PRICE DIFFERENCES, NOR FOR ANY DIFFERENCES IN SELECTION. |

According to the store I use, the VIP card does not count if a coupon has been used (doesn't matter if the item is on sale or not). Oh well, I do like the Warm & Natural. It has a nice feel to it, and I have seen beautiful silk quilts done by others using the same batting. These had a very lovely drape to them, even with intense free motion quilting. |

I hadn't thought of taking the AQS card. good idea, thanks LynnVT

The price match is the store policy not the online store, so Joann,s locations have to match any place price if you see it cheaper show them the proof (the manager asked me for a proof of the price) and they will match it then the coupon was the cherry on top ;-)

i could not believe it today. i actually got to use my 60% off coupon. like you all, i walk in the store, and it's already on sale. but the unbleached 108" wide muslin at 11.99 a yard , which is what i use for ALL my backs was a lucky pick today.
|
I bought a 30 yard bolt of 90 inch Warm & Natural with my 60 % off coupon. They had a full bolt on hand. The price on a clip board they had said it was $17.99/yd. but it rang up as $14.99/yd. iwas happy with that.
