Different ways to fold and store fabric
I have been searching for different ways to store fabric. I have tried different method. But what I want most is to be able to easily view my fabrics at a glance. I find I buy and buy fabrics instead of using from my stash when looking for borders because I do not think I have the right color...but as I started organizing my fabrics taking them out of bins and my many storage areas, i am finding I do have plenty of colors for all kinds of borders right in my sewing room. I would like to use my self that is on my wall, but have my fabric neatly folded. I figured I would post links of videos as I find intersting ones. There are many and I love the look of the cardboard folded fabric, but...I really have no interest in cutting up cardboard, I rather spend my time cutting up fabric to make a quilt. Well here is one link.

That looks like a lot of folding and refolding to me. I just use the ruler method and it works great.

I get the empty bolt from JoAnns fabrics. The ones that are just solid cardboard and cut them into half bolt lengths. It takes about 10 seconds, and having my fabric on shelves and visible has really inspired me to use what I have. JoAnn's folks are delighted to give them to you, that way they don't have to walk out to a dumpster to dispose of em!

Thanks for the link.

I do the same thing as Calicojoan. WalMart and Joanne's gladly hand them to you.

I do something similar but I store my fabric in tubs.
