Not yet but just today I bought one of the Mariners Compass cds. I hope it's easier than EQ6 that I bought 2 years ago....I don't have the time to sit and learn it.

I have the whole set-up and only recently changed my whole computer system to Windows 7. I'm not sure if it will install on the upgrade or not. If it doesn't, I will reinvest for sure. I don't do just paper piecing, but when I have, it is absolutely wonderful for scaling stuff up/down to the size I want and then simply printing out.

In short: I love it.

An aside: I had EQ when it was version 5 and sold it for about a third of what I paid because---even though I'm fairly computer savvy---I discovered the learning curve was far too great. I'd rather be sewing. I do remember in one of the EQ blogs that the question came up and many admitted they really like just playing with the blocks, designs, colors, etc. on the computer and do that far more than actual quilting. EQ just wasn't for me but Quilt Pro definitely was/is.

I have had EQ6 for a while and learned to use it a bit. But I admit it is not easy to use, and I teach people how to use software (yes, I am laughing at myself).

I wonder if this Quilt Pro would be easier for me to use as Jo has suggested?

I am curious also, I have heard so much about folks using EQ programs and they sound too hard for me to figure out. But I do have the Mariners Compass program, which is on sale for $9.99 right now and also have some of the Carol Doak books and CD's and they are easy to use. All of these are very easy to use.
I just arranged to purchase Quilt Pro from someone who decided not to even get started with it and I got a very good deal on the price. It is a bonus to me that the few quilt programs I do have will work with it.
But I do wonder how much I will use it since I love purchasing patterns.....

I have 123 quilt, but sadly ordered it on a download. Lost it on a hard drive crash and can only retrieve it once because I can't remember the purchase code. Loved what I have left of it.

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you and thought I'd just elaborate a bit here in the thread as some others seem to have question as well.

What I like most about Quilt Pro besides what I listed earlier is that it was workable for me from the minute I opened the program, including the up-and down-sizing of various blocks.

The accuracy of paper/foundation piecing is not only quite wonderful but fast as well. I have even printed it off onto fabric itself, but the time in preparing the fabric to freezer paper, etc. kind of ate up any saved time and almost killed my printer.

As to coloring, Quilt Pro presents some pleasing color combinations in the block samples, but I much prefer to either use my colored pencils and/or pieces of my planned fabrics to see if they're going to play well together.

In short, it helps me do what I love more quickly and more accurately.

I don't know much about this software. It sounds like you only use this on your computer, not in any way with your sewing machine. Is this correct? The price seems reasonable and you make it sound like I could pick it up fairly easily. Thanks for your input.

Yep, I produce the foundation pattern on the computer, print it off and sew, sew, sew.
