The online shop hop has started again!

Barbm 06-01-2008 04:17 AM

shhhh! Too many people lowers our chances of winning the grand prizes and getting all the great deals out there! :)

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 04:18 AM

LOL

There's another one out there I signed up for.
I won't post the link for that one ;)

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 04:20 AM

And I HATE when they don't give hints!
Sometimes I'm not wanting to look in their "store", but have to in order to find that dang rabbit!

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 04:28 AM

I just spent 40 min on one site and THERE IS NO BUNNY!

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 04:33 AM

Nope, nothing.
I did change my address to my MILs. I'm thinking they wouldn't let me play to win because they don't consider Guam part of the US or one of it's territories, but they do accept Puerto Rico.

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 04:40 AM

If I win anything, I'll have it all shipped to my in laws, then they can send it to me. :)

That's a wonderful thing to do....donating it to the quilting club!

Barbm 06-01-2008 04:44 AM

I found that many times the bunny is with the sign up for the newsletter. So I check there first and then go through the site. I set a goal for myself- depends on how much time I have, it's either 5 bunnies or 10 bunnies. I usually start out strong and then get busy and don't make it to all the sites. But it's fun and I usually find some bargains along the way. I've won twice- both $10 certificates.

I print out the list. Then I go from letter to letter. Once I am done with maybe 4 or 5 letters, I will go to the page where you can see which ones you have successfully done. I will then, cross them off my list and once ALL of them are done by the letters, I take my list, cross off the rest, then go back to find the ones I haven't found.

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 05:39 AM

Ok, I went to a total of 40 shops so far, but only found 25 :(

amma 06-01-2008 06:16 AM

I love doing the shop hops :D I have won twice, $25 and $15 :D Maybe this time is the lucky one for you Terri! :D :D :D

HMK 06-01-2008 06:25 AM

The shop hop is certainly addicting and fun. I've won gift certificates several times and this time was one of the second place winners - just waiting to see what the prize is (they say it's over $25 so we'll see). Now, off to start this next one.

mgshaw 06-01-2008 09:44 AM

I am thinking they should change the Bunny to a Frog and then it would find us!!!!!!

I have done 3or 4 of the hops so far and I aint won SQUATT!!!!!

Barbm 06-01-2008 01:01 PM

you can win it and have it shipped to my house and I'll keep it for you until you come to the states. I 'll even make sure it works. :)

I guess I better work on my bunnies so I can win it.

That's REALLY kind of you to offer to do that!
WOW! Such a nice person you are!!

Barbm 06-01-2008 01:23 PM

you can pick it up in PA on your way from NY to VA. Not really out of the way. Just a side trip :)

Barbm 06-01-2008 01:26 PM

Actually- it would probably sit here for ages. I just got the courage to use my machine I bought in '06 from Ebay. It's an embriodery one with lots of fancy stitches. I worried I would do something to it, so it sat for 2 years. Now I'm game to actually put on the embriodery unit and try something.

I also bought a handiquilter frame 2 months ago, waiting for some space in the living room- still waiting....... No one wants to take their stuff when they move out.

To allievate the problem of people NOT taking their things when they move out....Get boxes and just toss the stuff in there. Find a closet and pack the boxes there. Then, when they come to visit and ask where their things are, just point to the closet. Oh, and on the boxes...put "to give away". I'm telling you...the stuff WILL leave your house. lol

Just a head's up...if you can't find it and it isn't under the sign up for their newsletter page, try clicking on the contact us button for that site. Sometimes they hide them there when there aren't any clues to finding them.

I won a $10 gift certificate for the March hop, I used it towards some awesome batik fat quarters. A baker's dozen of them to boot! Have no idea what to do with them, but probably something for my sister.

tlrnhi 06-01-2008 09:33 PM

you know, i'd love to kill this little bunny right now......ugh!

jbsstrawberry 06-01-2008 09:35 PM

I'll get the gravy started!! LMBO

Can we have both??

Barbm 06-02-2008 04:36 AM

I want both too! Smashed taters and gravy is my favorite food! I'll pass on the rabbit. bad experience when I was a kid. Don't like squirrel either.

Now, what kind of veggie......salad? Yes, salad sounds good. MMMM.....spinach salad. I make an awesome one!

Barbm 06-02-2008 04:48 AM

yummm, love spinach salad. Dessert? Something chocolate?

tlrnhi 06-02-2008 04:51 AM

hmmmmm.........I don't have any good chocolate recipes, but I can make a great cheesecake!

Barbm 06-02-2008 04:56 AM

I'm afraid to try to make cheesecake. I make peanut butter pie for the church dinners. I don't like peanut butter though.

tlrnhi 06-02-2008 04:57 AM

I was afraid to do it too, but it's really easy. Heck, if I can make it, anyone can!

Okay I found a photo on my Facebook, but when I copy it, it looks small.. I hope this works.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Barbm 06-03-2008 04:54 AM

I've been looking for the perfect moist chocolate cake for years. Could this be it?

If you don't mind waiting a few days, I will post it after the weekend. The book is down to Mum's place. I will spending the weekend with her. she said she is kidnapping me for a few days while Trevor is working all weekend.
There is a big Quilt Convention going on here in St. John's all week. We are going to hit some of the exhibits and the merchants market over the weekend with our other Thursday night sewing group gals!!! I plan to get my batteries charged so I can take my camera with me and get some inspiration photos!! I'll post them when I get them!

Barb M 06-05-2008 12:56 AM

www.Fabshophop.com is fantastic way to spend hours browsing the internet sites, about 130 if you want to be a grand prize winner, frustrated that you have to locate a stupid little clipart bunny, being sidetracked into the brainwash mode of retailers telling you that you will be getting a bargain to spend a zillion dollars, plus an arm/leg for shipping to get a little piece of fabric, then hearing lots of other ladies tell you how lucky they were to win a gift certificate.

ok - to be nice now: it's an opportunity to shop online through a variety of quilting/sewing stores. When you locate the clipart bunny, you can move to the next store. And at the end of the month you may be eligible to win goodies. I'm never the lucky one. And with a slow clunky internet connection at work (my free time) it takes me hours and hours and hours that I could be productive, like reading a mystery novel or something, just waiting for the next ER victim to arrive. (can any one tell it's the end of my shift, and the end of my week, and I work too many nights???)

Barb M 06-05-2008 01:13 AM

hmmm.....thank you so much :) I wonder if you have to spend anything to find the bunnies, or does it all work on seduction lol, you don't have to spend, but you're gonna want to? Sounds like you're working a graveyard shift, i used to work that shift, in a little corner store, oh that shifts a killer...thanks Sarah :)

Barb, you don't have to buy anything.
Just "shop" around and ooh and aah over all the stuff, I do! lol
I have 86 out of all the shops done. Not sure at the moment how many total there are, but you only need 98 to be in the running for the grand prize.
Hint for you....if you can't find the bunny...check the Newsletter link on the sites.
If you can't find the bunny anywhere, write down the name of the shop, then go back to it.
OR...maybe someone here can help you out.
