That's beautiful, I've also heard you can use kids school glue, like Elmers because it just washes out.
|
School glue! How brilliant! I have got to try this! Love batiks.
|
I did batiks years ago. It's very messy to say the least and a lot harder than it looks.
|
Found this really interesting, might give it a try just to see IF I can do it and it is as easy as it looks. I like making a mess. Still a big kid at heart.

If anyone tries this, please post pictures, good or bad. LOL
|
Yes pictures please. I've been doing some research on hand dyed fabrics and I think it would be quite fun to dabble a bit. One of the most educational sites I've found gives you directions on making a rainbow of different colored fabrics, using just three dyes, and I'm thinking it would make a great rainbow quilt.
I'm always up for the good the bad and the messy! |
Oh yes, Oh yes, I have been looking for a while for a technique I want to try. This is great. I have known about the flour sence I was a kid. I like this. I already have fabric paint. This and the shaving lotion. Someday I am going to try both. Someday. :D

I forgot, just a hint... In the tute I like that I have to find, it states that you can use just about any dye, Ritz or any of those. Just put the shaving cream in a large flat container, swirl in the dye then lay/or submerse your fabric in it.. I can't remember how long but the tutes above should give you a better idea. :D

Hey there Donnarae, Thanks for all that info and taking the time to look for it, really appreciate that. I like the feather effect you can get with the shaving cream. Got a lot on at the moment but will try it, both techniques see how it comes out. interesting.
