That looks like hard work.

Every method I've used for fold away paper piecing takes too much time. I rather rip the paper. I started using Stable Stuff and just leave it in. I'm lazy.

Great tutorial! I'm going to take a class in June...I've never tried it, but it really makes a precise look. Thank you for taking the time for this!

Great tutorial. I just purchased a pattern and realized when I got it that it was on freezer paper and I have never worked with freezer paper. I was going to get it copied onto the regular paper I use but perhaps with your tutorial, I will give myself this challenge.

One question.....since there is no sewing to the paper, does it begin to slip or slide with all the folding and moving it around or does the pressing really hold the fabric and paper together until finished?

I love the fold method. It does not slip because you iron the sewn piece to the freezer paper and everything stays nice and tight. I would never go back to tearing! I make mine 2 layers and I am able to reuse the same template 5-6 times before it loses its sticky.

I watched Jenny Doan's tutorial and she makes it look a lot easier. She glued the section of the pattern then attached first piece with a lapel stick but you can get Elmer's washable glue on a stick also. I tried a couple different patterns because I can't make up my mind and her way is much easier. I used tissue paper that comes in 20"x20" sheets and there are about 30 sheets which would give you 120 10 sq. in sheets. It's just a matter of making a template with that first section. She also did it with the periwinkle and scrappy spider web.
