Great tutorial and I even have the ruler, thanks!

This post is mislabeled! The link given is for a tutorial on making the Spicy Spiral table runner - and it tells you that you have to purchase the pattern. The directions are given in the pattern -- this tutorial is not necessary. I am making the runner now, and I am happy that I purchased the pattern.

I have the pattern and started one of these some time ago. The pattern is written so horribly for me, I couldn't finish the thing trying to follow the instructions. I'm so glad this tutorial is available I now understand what how to do it. Thanks Maxnme for posting the link.

katesnanna 10-01-2012 04:33 PM

Thank you for this. I intend to make my own template.

I too have the pattern and could not figure it out -- I think I will be able to make it after reading the tut and looking at at the pictures.

Thanks for the link.

Thanks so much for posting this link! I first saw this runner at the first of the year while out in Salt Lake City and thought the pattern looked complicated. This posting made me rethink this. Thanks.

These instructions from SewWeQuilt are so superior to the original pattern that it is unbeliveable. My first try was a total disaster, but this tutorial is so easy to understand and I'm so happy because I wanted to make this quilt, but was afraid to waste any more fabric with the original pattern being so confusing. My friend who has been quilting far longer than me also felt that the original pattern was very poorly explanatory.

I purchased the original pattern and the instructions are terrible. My quilting friend, far more experienced than I, also said the instructions were very bad. I wasted some nice material on my original attempt and almost gave up on finding instructions that made more sense but the instructions given on SewWeQuilt are so clear and the pictures are very clear. Now I'm ready to try again. I really tried to find better instructions and was thrilled to find this tutorial.

I looked at the free pattern on tute thought I could do it even though I had to make a 9 degree ruler.
These are my results .buy the pattern and make lovely runners. The middle picture is the bits I cut off because I cut wedges wrong. Must do better and try harder.

lisalovesquilting 11-29-2012 02:42 AM

Thanks for this great site!

owlvamp 05-24-2013 05:20 AM

btiny36 05-24-2013 06:06 AM

Thanks bunches

zennia 05-24-2013 07:26 AM

Thanks for the tutorial. How wide do we cut the strips for the runner. She says cuts them as pattern says. That's what is missing from this tutorial.

Evelynquilts 05-25-2013 05:21 PM

Thank you for sharing this great sight !!!

Geri B 01-14-2014 05:09 AM

Someone on QB has figured out the pattern strip sizes.......cannot remember where I recently saw it...can we do a search?

sunshine5169 03-26-2014 01:36 PM

I'm having a hard time FINDING this pattern now!!! Does anyone know where I can get it? If I can download it? or even if I can just BORROW it??? Thanks!!

NannaL 04-21-2014 08:46 PM

How did you go sunshine have any luck. Just wondering.

cdmmiracles 04-22-2014 03:31 AM

Thanks for sharing. I even like the look without trimming the edges to make it smooth......but then again, that would be murderous to bind, lol!!
