I love this technique. :) The only think I do differently is that I use an old needle in my sewing machine to perforate my paper instead of just scoring it.

Interesting tutorial. Thanks for sharing.

Its the only way to go!!! No ripping paper off anything!

kristakz 10-13-2011 09:15 AM

Very cool. This might get me to try paper piecing again (hated it the first time).

lizzy 10-13-2011 01:41 PM

It is always easier if pictures are included in tutorial. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this tutorial. I printed it to use as a reference if I ever start paper piecing. Thanks!

Nanaquilts44 10-14-2011 06:14 AM

Yes, I will save this for reference!

I like this - I may try pp again.

jlm5419 10-14-2011 08:22 AM

That would be so much better than having to remove paper from the stitching!

kwiltnutt 10-14-2011 09:58 AM

That's the way I do most pp and it is great.........no paper to remove. The only thing I would add is get yourself one of the add-a-quarter rulers (they come in 6 and 12 inch)...........makes pping so much easier.

Gelswood 10-14-2011 11:03 AM

Interesting!!! I hate paper piecing but I do love how crisp the lines are. Guess I'll keep practicing!

I use this method for pping and also use the 6 inch add-a-quarter ruler.

Great Tutorial! I just forwarded it to all 90 members of our local quilt club. Some newbies have expressed the desire to learn paper piecing and it is always good to learn new and/or better techniques.

MarilynLouise 10-14-2011 05:50 PM

Thanks. I will try that tecnic sometime!

Be careful, freezer paper shrinks when ironed.

arizonagirl 10-15-2011 12:19 AM

Thanks for sharing this site. I have wanted to try paper piecing, but was having a hard time understanding how it worked. This made everything clear and the pictures helped a lot.

Using FREEZER PAPER is the best. This is all i use now and i do not get frustrated with the tearing off of paper when my project is finished. YIPPPPEEEEE

KastleKitty 10-19-2011 07:58 AM
