oh, my gosh!
it is the permanent rod principle! What a neat idea! LOL
you remember the permanent rods? Before we got those "magnetic" rollers that were the size of soup cans ...
<looking around> oh! you mean I am now an OLD TIMER???? ROFLOL

i used to get my hair professionally straightened, so you're talking to the wrong gal. now i wear it short, so i let the curls take over.

What a great idea....thank you for sharing the site. I really like that idea....and so simple.

<sigh> I should be so lucky.
Although, my DD, youngest has hair down to her waist, a TON of it!
SHe was going to get it cut a couple of years ago, and I asked her, "Darling Daughter, youngest - - do you remember why you started growing your hair long, lo, those twenty years ago or more?"

Isn't it strange how an old woman can have a better memory than a relatively young one???
anyway, sure enough, she had forgotten.
Truth be told, from her father's side of the family, she inherited naturally curly hair, and a TON of it ... and, were it not for her waist-long hair, it (her natural curls) would be flying all over the place in ringlets that would make Shirley Temple scream!
LOL ... when I reminded her, <g>, she immediately ceased and desisted from talking about cutting her hair ... young whipper snappers! sheesh! LOL

That's a great idea, I have been using the long twist ties from garbage bags.... (we are too lazy to go find them on trash day! We just hand tie the garbage bags so i have lots of twist ties!)
Or you can buy at dollar store...

this is a more "green" idea! :P

omak - exactly true! i had it done until it reached a certain length, and then the weight of it kept it down. i wore it waist-long until i was 50. after i washed it i braided it, and the braids took 2 days to dry. i thought i would mildew. when i unbraided it, it looked like it had been set into snake wiggles.

i'm hijacking my own thread. am i allowed to do that?

I've used pipe cleaners in the past. Can get several bobbins on!
