I just got back from my 1st National Quilt Show at Columbus, Ohio last Friday, June 18, 2010 and was so much fun, my guild took a charter bus and we had a blast was almost 3 hours one way but was worth it

if you ever go to a show be sure to have good walking shoes, dress in layers, take a bottle of water with you and some snacks

If you go to any please post a note here. Thanks!

I go to Paducah every year. It's the only big show I like to go to, because the whole town is the show.

If you live in the LA area, make sure you go to the "Road to California" show in Ontario in January.

I attended the International Quilt show in Chicago..every year, and attend all three days to fully capture all that was there. It was a huge blow to find out this year they are taking the show to Cinncinatti starting 2011.
I can honestly say the inspiration that came from that show heavily influenced my own quilting . Probably the biggest influence was the use of color. I was so in awe at the magnificent quilts ...and then it dawned on me the one thing they all had in common was color use. I made a decision to "turn it up a notch", and challenged my self to be more exploritory in the world of color.
I also love having great vendors in one place , seeing all the great gadjets and gismos. I paricularly love the vendors doing demonstrations.
It was the highlight of my year , and always left each show looking forward to the next.
Just call me "still bumming in Chicago" .
