Here is the lightbox my DH made for me. I needed one for a quilt I was doing and was going to purchase it and he said no he would just make it. I really like it. The size is just perfect, it is 24x18x4, with 1/4" Plexiglass on top, 22" light inside and then we put a door handle on it so I could carry it.

on this end with door handle I can lift it and turn it off and on. Want him to put a switch on the outside cord though.

My light box is an extra drawer left over from the kitchen remodel. I fastened a tube light to the bottom with the cord coming thru a notch on the side; had plexiglass cut to size and screwed into place. The handle of the drawer makes for easy carry as well as a place to loop the cord for storing. Worked for me. Didn't need the hubby for this one! Suzanne

My dh cut a piece of plexi glass the size of my sewing table opening and I just remove the machine put the portable lite in the opening and the plexi on top and wow, there is my lite box. the only things needing storage when not in use is the glass and lite. Works great.

This is a great idea too! This board is the greatest. Now I am wondering with all the super quilters out there, one of you has to have a way to make "more time"!!!!!! If not that, "self cleaning house"??? :D
