I found this page if anyone is interested in doing this star for our brave men and women in the line of duty. it is through Minick and Simpson for Moda fabrics, I found it on the Moda Blog. http://www.unitednotions.com/LA_just_one_star.pdf
maybe someone already posted this, I haven't checked yet. I am going to make a few of these myself.

Thank you I promised to make some blocks for the mom of a soldier on here.... This is great :)

OmaForFour 03-14-2011 05:05 AM

Members of my quilt guild are doing the blocks and our local LQS is collecting them. I will send them over to be included in the quilts. This is a wonderful thing to do!

There is always a lot of talk about doing things for our soldiers as a whole. Does anyone know of a way to say "adopt a soldier"? In other words, get the name and address of a soldier to write to, send care packages, etc.

Pattern and measurements are on 2nd page of the link provided on this board.

I don't think it needs to be definitely Moda as long as it is a quality of fabric like Moda so that all the blocks work out ok.

I have a question. On the example they say to sign your name and then in another area your state. I was just wondering, do you sign your full name or just your first name?

Just your first name or even a nick name would be what I would write on the label. I don't think I would want my last name on it, or you could leave as an annonomous sender.

Thanks, that what my initial reaction was too.

Alondra 03-15-2011 11:24 PM

Thanks for the heads-up - I'll make a few, too.

I just mailed 39 blocks from a quilting group at a winter Texan park.

SandyinZ4 03-30-2011 10:00 AM

Well, RATS! I have searched and searched and I can not find the pattern for this. I tried 'just one star'; minick & simpson and still no luck. Anyone have a link to the pattern or does one have to buy it?

Today must be my dumb day. I see now that all the measurements are on the SECOND page. Now I can go make some. Thanks to all who wrote to me!
