Thanks I am not good at copying and paste. I thought some of the new mothers might like to try them and save some money.

I made these for my daughter (although not this pattern). She loved them. They worked much better then store bought ones.

I remember when I was shopping and had left the baby home with DH..and obviously the baby was crying and my body knew it. Had to cut a feminine helper in two till I got home. Works well, anything to keep your now expanded front dry.

I used to use men's cotton hankies for nursing pads, worked great.

Well, it was 30 years ago when I made mine, but I used a cloth diaper. This came from a friend of mine who went through the nursing class at the military hospital where we were stationed when she had her first baby.

1. Fold the diaper in 3rds.
2. Use a mayo jar lid ( about a 4" circle) to draw circles around.
3. ZigZag stitch around the drawn circles a couple of times.
4. Cut out the circles and use.

These are washable, and dryable. They were absorbent, and they did not show through in the clothing. And I reused them with all of my children.

I went a step further and sewed white PUL to one side of the pad to prevent leak-through for my daughter. She loves them.
