I'm getting ready to cut some squares corner to corner-I think I'll use some first just as shown, couldn't hurt and will hopefully help with the bias.

One of the easiest ways to control bias is Elmer's. Before you cut the square, simply smear Elmer's across the cutting area and let it dry. It will not allow the bias to stretch.

I used the 1/2" fusible on the roll used for sewing clothes when I first started cutting bias edges for quilts. Now the good stuff is available in about any width size you need thanks to Anita Grossman Solomon.
