Do you think this would work for quilting supplies

I think it would be great!
|
i see some designing for my new room with this in mind.
|
I've made one very similar to this using a heavy duty hanger on the top to hang from and put the pockets where I wanted them. Hangs behind my door so the table isn't so cluttered.
|
I should think it would be great if you didn't put smaller things into the pockets that would fall to the bottom never to be seen again. Sure would hold a lot of goodies.
|
I got some from the dollar store and it works great.. a clear see thru Christmas one- put stabilizers and such where the wrapping paper goes and a clear shoe one so i can see whats in each pocket..

I would love one :D:D:D
|
looks like a cool idea, read the review as someone posted it was not stitched very good and was falling apart
we could design our own |
Yes
|
I don't see why it wouldn't work for holding supplies.
|
Before you commit, read the review #1 on the site-that person found it really poor quality. The design looks great and would be a real space-saving organizer - just be weary of quality according to that reviewer.
|
It looks like a good idea but did you read some of the reviews? There were complaints about poor workmanship and quality.
OOPS! Posted at the same time as Vanuatu Jill. |
I like the 2 for $19 roll-up ones that are advertized on same page of this link better...
More small pockets and cheaper! I use a shoe organizer for all my husband's baseball caps on the coat closet door and use a shoe organizer for sewing odds and ends also... they are always on sale someplace!!! |
I have two similar to that in my sewing room, hanging on each side of the door to the closet.
But mine were $1.00 garage sale finds and were made to hold shoes. They work great! I think that you could make one fairly easily that would be better quality and much cheaper. |
I've been using a canvas one like that for years. Much cheaper than the one you referenced.
Try Bed Bath and Beyond store or Walmarts or one of the at-home type catalogues. I had a see-through plastic one, it dried out and started to crack plus it showed the accumulated dirt in addition to the quilt tools. |
Absolutely!

i even have one in my garden shed on the inside door, for my garden "notions"! |
This does work, I purchased a shoe organizer from Target for apx $15.00, very handy for small objects...still haven't labeled the pockets, but will...thought you might be interested since the price is better at a Walmart or Target...this one is by a designer that is taupe with white trim...very decorater friendly...memepeggy

I bought a shoe organized at Goodwill, still in the package, for $1.50. It was one of those things I did not need at the time, but knew I would need it later. It is now later and it works well for quilting supplies.
|
it would be good for the larger items, this one for the smaller items, would work too.
It can be used to hang inside a closet as well, which would work for me. http://home-solutions.hsn.com/set-of...sp=Recommended*PD*right |
I think that I'm going to buy one today when we go Xmas shopping. Thanks for the idea.
Happy organizing, Kutnso |
Not real sure.................could get pretty heavy.

I bought one similar at Wal-Mart - it was for shoes. Great for storing my small stuff like rotary cutters, scissors, tape, etc. Now I know where to look for the stuff.
|
I have that exact door organiser. I bought it for quilt supplies, but have ended up keeping my camera gear in it. I think it is good.
|
I guess it would work but I would make my own so I could design it to fit my needs. $30 dollars seems like a lot of money for such a thing, you can make something cheaper. I have been thinking about making one to hold my stablizers. I am going to hang it on an "over the door towel holder" and make loops for a wooden dowel to slide through and hang on the towel holder. I am making the main part out of quilted fabric and then make slots out of clear plastic to slide stablizer in and then I can make lables to identify the different kinds. I made something like this to hold my mats and rulers, it has been a real space saver. I'm gonna make this when I have time, when ever that is.
|
I bought one of those clear vinyl shoe organizers to go on the wall in my quilting area. Because the pockets are see though it is easy to see what is in them, and the size fits a lot of my supplies. I already have a ruler holder on the wall, so don't need the big pockets. I also have one of these on the back of the my son's door for his small toys that get lost in the mess of his bedroom.
|
I use them for everything--one in my linen closet for bandaids, extra toothbrushes, etc. One in my office to sort mail (I was my aunt's guradian and her and my mother's executors when they died). One holds all my glue supplies. I get them fairly cheap at WalMart. I get the clear ones so I can see what is in there. If I use and all canvas one, then I have to search.
