Perfect Half Square Triangles Every time
For Perfect HST, QST & Flying Geese, I use "Brenda Henning's Triangulations 3.0" CD. You can order it online from www.bearpawproductions.com It does QST in 1/8" increments, 3/4" to 7 1/2" sizes, HST in 1/16" increments, 1/2" - 7 1/2" sizes, and Flying Geese in 1/4" increments, 1/2" x 1" to 3 3/4" to 7 1/2" sizes. You print the size you want off your computer printer, pin the paper to your fabric, RST, sew on lines and cut apart on lines. Download it to your computer and share it with friends.

I buy a lot of quilting stuff that never does what it's supposed to - but this was one purchase from which I have more than gotten my money's worth.
I LOVE Triangulations! :D |
I agree - it's a great tool. You can make many sizes as needed - so don't have to keep packages of strips of varying sizes about. When I worked on Bonnie Hunter's quilts and needed literally 100's of HST's, this was fabulous!
I buy doodle paper at the Dollar Store, trim it to printer size and run it through. Much cheaper than the packaged foundation paper, and much easier to rip off than copy paper. |
Some day when I am feeling money ahead...I have friends that also love the Triangulations. Will have to check the dollar store for paper.

Yes! Triangulations rocks!! I couldn't of completed the quilt I made over the summer without them.

I did a Block of the Month called "Lady of the Lake" - nothing but HST's. Using Triangulations ensured that my blocks were exactly the same size from month to month. Now, I'm working on a giant Swing to the Center (again, nothing but HST's) No matter how long it is between sewing sessions, the HST's and the blocks are going to come out the same size. :) You can get a free pdf page of 1-5/8" HST's direct from Triangulations web site: http://www.bearpawproductions.com/us...ple%20Grid.pdf |
I have the CD and love it...not as helpful if you are doing a scrap quilt, but excellent for many repeated blocks of the same colors

I, too, could not have done my latest quilt: 50 State Blocks, without triangulations. I even used it for cutting triangles of single fabric (no sewing). I lightly sprayed the paper with 505 (or you can pin but spray is faster), laid it on the wrong side of the fabric and cut. Great for numerous small triangles with no waste.
