Pineapple Jelly Quilt Tutorial

If you can get past the nasal voice and the dialect, here is a really neat tutorial.

I have taken a couple of classes from Diane Dye, he is a great teacher. I guess the dialect didn't bother me since I'm also from the middle Georgia area. Sounds normal to me, lol.

She sounds normal to me too! Sounds like Mississippi area.

I guess there is South and deep South. I am originally from Texas, lived in South Caroling nearly 20 years and now moved my permanent address to Georgia. Eight months of the year I live in India--no dialect there! LOL

I loved this tutorial. A pineapple quilt has been on my bucket list for a long time. I think I'll move it to the top of the list, she made it look so easy. I was always kind of intimidated by this pattern but if you can use jelly rolls, it's my kind of pattern...a lot less cutting.

Thank you for the tute - its early am and I couldn't listen too long for the instructions. The high pitched and thick accent was a little overwhelming, but I'll go back later. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing this! :)

Enjoyed the tutorial. I'll go back to this one and others of hers. Accent sounds okay to me.

Thanks for the link. The accent doesn't bother me a bit, in fact I thought it was a nice "down home" accent.

This block is definitely on my list of things to do.

She has a nice pineapple block tutorial. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the link, this is on my bucket list. Thought it would be too hard but her method seems fairly straight forward.

Nice tutorial but I agree the voice is irritating not the accent its her sound quality.

MimiBug123 01-26-2013 06:35 PM

Gotta give this a try. The accent doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I probably sound a lot like that, myself. I live further south than she does!

Yes its the high pitch. I had to go back and listen to it parts at a time. I live in the south and its not the accent, its her high pitched nasal voice. It actually gave me a headache! But that being said, it was really worth putting up with to get the instructions. She is a great teacher. I love big block quilts so I'm anxious to give this one a try.
