I just found this cool link about prewashing fabrics
http://quiltingpassion.com/articles/prewash.html |
I was wondering if you pre wash your fabrics?
i dont prewash.
I wash dry and iron
i never prewash...but i've just been quilting a short time
I depends. If I'm mixng fabric, or if I'm using old and new fabric I wash. If in doubt I wash and dry the way I would once done.
I always prewash one ruined quilt was enough for me. Besides I have developed an allergy to the finish on the fabric. I hate sneezing while trying to cut . I like all my fingers where they are. lol
I even wash all my new fabrics together since I discovered the Color catchers. They go in my machine with all my new fabric and clothes. I just washed some blue fabric with white and no color on the white but the color catcher was dark blue. I did it as a test . Love those things. |
I always prewash except for charm packs!
I always do. You do not know how much stretch, shrinkage or starch is in the fabric that can create havoc when machine quilting. I realize some fabrics probably would not require it, but I always do to be on the safe side. Good luck and God bless.

I don't.
I always pre-wash and use Magic Sizing. :)
I do not pre-wash my fabric and have never had a problem with fading. I like the feel of fabric with sizing. Would like to see a swap for fabric or blocks, etc. stating "do not prewash".
