This link will take you to the world of Quilting 24/7
Oftentimes I have my laptop plugged in and on wireless and have this program going while I'm sewing. It's the bomb
It doesn't have Alex Anderson, but it has most of the great quilt teachers and resources of our time.

Have you looked at this website lately. A big surprise. No more free videos. I am so disappointed. Quilter 1234

kasapa 10-12-2007 03:01 PM

I was dissappointed also. Why do you have to pay for everything it seems.

amma 10-12-2007 04:01 PM

Yes, when they started advertising about all of the "new changes" they had a survey I filled out. One question was would you be willing to pay for this service, I had a bad feeling that they were doing some fishing then. I guess for the amount of information available, $2 a month is not so bad, it is cheaper than one movie rental......

It's a great deal for $2 a month, you can watch any of their videos at any time, not just when they decided to show them. I think this is a wonderful resource for quilters. I especially like watching the Kaye Wood and Eleanor Burns programs, and now I can pick which one I want when I have the time to view it.

You can find Alex Anderson's Simply Quilts programs on the HGTV.com site. I think you look under crafts, and then follow the links, and I think every episode is there to view and it is free. They don't do a good job of describing the shows and you have to use a search box to find the episodes you want, and each show is in sections, but that is an advantage for me.

I don't like the new show with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson. Way to much chatting and too little info on their preview shows. I don't want to pay for a show that has little to teach.

Kayewood.com also has videos of her programs, but the player is very choppy in my pc so it is aggrevating to watch.

Is any one else aware of Internet programming for quilting?

Diane

Y'know, I tried this before but I do not use a PC. Our family is are Apple users.

dmackey 10-12-2007 11:42 PM

Guess I spoke too soon!

I just did an internet search and found www.brightcove.tv and I put "quilting" in the search box. It came up with over 1200 titles and many of them are full length quilting programs! AND THEY ARE FREE.

Kaye Wood has tv programming and it's free! the site is called
www.kayewoodtv.com
it runs smooth if you have highspeed internet, dial up will be choppy.

Roben 05-15-2008 08:08 AM

I usually keep Quilters TV on in the background while I'm sewing - its free, and runs continuously so I don't have to keep going back to start another video.

ooh I'm in trouble now!! LOL I tried to open them here at work, but seems I"m being blocked.. @$#(@ IT Department!! can't they see they are infringing on my fun time here!!!

I'll have to try those links when I go home...

DonnaRae 05-16-2008 07:22 AM

I have a lot of vidio sites listed in my favorites. I will list them then post them in links and let you all know when I do. Should be shortly. I also am not happy about QNN charging for thier shows now. Even if it is $ 2 a month you have to pay it at one time, and I can get a lot of fabric for $24. LOL. We poor quilters will buy fabric before bread. :D Just kidding. But really there are too many freebie vidios out there to pay. So I will be listing them, :D

DonnaRae 05-16-2008 07:54 AM

Okay I listed a bunch, I have more and lots of sewing vidios. But that will be another day. Have fun :D

joannl 05-17-2008 08:03 AM

DonnaRae,
I don't see the list! Oh,no!

Everyone thanks for these links! I love them. I just need to watch out, I spend soooo much time on the computer since I joined this group! LOL!

Never mind, I found it. Thanks for listing them!!!!
