Wish I had a drawerful of strips too, but I love this design so maybe I'll keep it in mind for a baby quilt I want to make. With lots of blues in it for a boy.

There is a ruler to do these, I happen to be a gadget person. It is called"Lazy Angle" ruler....Love it.

~ welcome carol. i am a wing it diy make it yours kinda person unless i really need a new gadget. it's easy to measure 3"-3.5" inches into a 6.5" square tapering off to the end and cut out a template to use. but there is room for all of us as quilters, the gadget folks and the diy folks.

I, too, would like to make my own strips. My question is where you join the strips, do you cut the strip straight across or on a diagonal?
