those are so cute! tacky?what is tacky about them??? guess to each their own...
i always save my empty spools in a 3 gallon plastic icecream bucket and when its' full i give it to the elementary school art department, and to the boy scouts. i will have to include this link for them i bet they will have fun with these. |
I would love to see projects with what to do with all those spools..besides my kitties using them as a toy.

It would be easier to cover the spool with a small piece of felt..sometimes the paint comes off, especially if the spool is plastic. This would also be a great time to use up some of those pesky "too little to do anything with" scraps! ;-)

I made something similar to these for my granddaughters when they got their first sewing machines (ages 7&8) They were put in their stockings. I also made some sugar fairies, and elves. They loved them.
