What is the rule for to wash or not to wash flannel? I heard if your bought it from a "quilt" shop you may not need to. I got mine online from Keepsake. I have been quilting for 2 years now. Thanks for the link, it is keeping me busy.

They are always good to review. I may have read the tip about using freezer paper to square up a block that's askew but had forgotten about

I always wash flannel and dry it; sometimes I do it more than once because it does truly shrink, sometimes as much as 3%.
