Those are awesome :D:D:D

I don't know. They look exactly like a pair I have that are Gingher's. Of course, Gingher could have copied them from this original... but buyer, beware!

I agree with Ceil - careful there, even the gold plate vintage Gingher's like mine generally sell at auction for about $25. There are whole websites and collector's articles devoted to vintage and antique scissors. Read up so you don't get ripped off. OR go to Joans with a 50% off coupon and get a nice shiny new pair of Gingher's stork scissors with a case and everything. |
Interesting story behind the scissors. Thanks for sharing

So the seller didn't even list a price? Or did I miss it?
Here's the Gingher's - also gold plated- http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CCMQ8wIwAA# And there are cheaper versions out there, some as low as $8. Buyer beware is an understatement (although maybe not intentionally from the seller's standpoint). |
Interesting! :)

There are tons of reproductions of this design out there...

The last time I was at a flea market I found a booth with a lot of the gold stork small scissors. Looks just like the picture. I bought a pair. I think I gave $6 for them and they are very nice scissors and sharp! I have been happy with them much more then I thought I would be. I wish I had bought more. Some were made in the rooster design and some were very fancy scroll work. There is no brand name on them anywhere that I can see. It was a lucky buy.
