very neat...it would also be interesting if the strips were straightened before sewing

Great video, I just sent a copy to each of my prayer quilt buddies from our church. We have lots of scraps and leftover fabric and wanted to find something to do with them and now we have a plan. Thanks for posting this.

I started making these blocks yesterday...using a quilting catalog that I got in the mail for the fountain. I have tons and tons of scraps...so I first cut a bunch of 2 1/2 inch strips and then a bunch of 1 1/2 strips...this is so easy and fun. I just finished sewing a bunch of the blocks together and hopefully finish FMQ'ing it today. I only did 8 blocks just to get the hang of it and its very scrappy. So this one will be for my kitties under their cat bowls. I will start making the blocks a little less scrappy. I will use the same fabric in the center and the last strip of each block. I also will make all of the strips the same size that join. This is a great way to use up scraps....

Instead of paper I use warm and natural batting (my left overs) and add backing. Then I do quilt as you go to join the blocks.

Looks like a fun way to use the mountain of scraps!
